Pragmatic automation
We automate the repetitive parts of pentesting work so practitioners can focus on judgement, validation, and client value instead of copy-paste toil.
NetfoeAbout Netfoe
Founder background
Santiago Lizardo is an engineering leader, entrepreneur, and open-source advocate focused on building practical software, sharing knowledge, and helping teams align technology with real business outcomes.
That background shows up in Netfoe: a product built for people doing the work every day and for the broader teams that need visibility into risk, remediation, and progress.
What guides us
We automate the repetitive parts of pentesting work so practitioners can focus on judgement, validation, and client value instead of copy-paste toil.
Security assessments touch more than the security team. We design for collaboration between testers, developers, managers, and stakeholders.
Netfoe is built by people who understand the realities of delivery, reporting, prioritisation, and keeping security work moving under pressure.
Company journey
Reconmap was created to solve the friction Santiago saw in real security delivery: fragmented notes, slow reporting, and weak collaboration between testers and stakeholders.
The product vision was recognised with the Open University Student Entrepreneurship Competition, validating both the problem and the market need.
Netfoe became a ScotlandIS DigitalTech Award finalist, a strong signal that the platform was resonating in Scotland's technology and cybersecurity ecosystem.
The platform architecture was substantially rewritten to support a stronger foundation for scale, maintainability, and the next wave of product capabilities.
Netfoe started expanding its AI-assisted capabilities to help security teams accelerate workflows, reduce repetitive effort, and extract more value from assessment data.
Open-source traction
A snapshot of the project's GitHub star growth, showing continued community interest as the platform has matured.

Where we operate
Dundee is more than a location for Netfoe. It is the environment that helped shape the company: home to Abertay University's world-first Ethical Hacking degree, deep security talent, and a culture that takes cybersecurity seriously.
With CyberQuarter and a strong local network of practitioners, researchers, and founders, Dundee has become one of the clearest centers of gravity for cybersecurity in Scotland. That backdrop is part of why Reconmap was created there.
